Digital Gnomes or DigiGnomes are glowing, flying fishlike creatures. They evolved from the digital world itself. In the past, some were killed by the D-Reaper.
The DigiGnomes enfused Takato's information on Guilmon with data packets to create him. They also transformed the light of digivolution into Calumon, whom they rescued from Makuramon's cage after he lost him.
When Calumon unleashed the light of digivolution, the DigiGnomes used their power with it to digivolve all wild Digimon in the digital world to Mega. Unfortunately, all but one of the DigiGnomes were destroyed in the process.
The final DigiGnome followed the tamers and their Digimon to Earth, and after the death of the D-Reaper and the departure of the Digimon back to the digital world, this DigiGnome was shown flying by Guilmon's cave, after which the portal to the digital world inside the cave was seen by Takato. It is presumed that the portal was closed by Juggernaut's effects and reactivated by the DigiGnome.
